pls what should i do?

What do you mean when you say "i reset the decoder after serial connection"
Did the log you posted above came from the Hyperterminal Window?

From the log above you can see that you have a CRC error.
CRC is short for Cyclic redundancy check.
So it is telling you that there are some corrupted data.
From the looks of it, the loader is trying to load the program from flash into
memory but while unziping the image file it encounterd a CRC check sum error.
The good news is that the loader looks to be working just right
(Thought I still need to see a bit more logs to be 100% sure of that).
Now tell me what you have tried so far, Did you try to turn it up by connecting to another receiver?
Did you try to load the software from hyperterminal? Did you write everything from the log file?
I would let you know what to do once I know what you have already tried.

thank you for your help. i mean reset to say when i power off and on. yes the log which i have written is the whole text i got from hyperterminal but also the same for putty,real terminal and other serial connectors. since i donot have a knowledge how to turnup a receiver by using another receiver i havenot tried it yet. pls tell me steps to turnup my receiver by using another similar receiver?

My suggestion is to try to first have a look at the configuration of Hyperterminal
Since you were sucessfuly connected to your receiver from there it would be good
to use those configuration settings when you use the loader.
Let us see how you could do this


Open the hyperterminal file where you were able to sucesfully connect to your receiver
and go to(you need to disconnect ongoing call)
File>Properties
and see the com port in "Connect using"
Choose that same com port to the supermax loader.


now again go to
File>Properties>Configure
see the following "portSpeed"
set that same speed as bitrate to the supermax loader.

again go to
File>Properties>Configure
choose Advanced Tab and see Parity
set the same parity to the supermax loader.

Now close Hyperterminal,
Using the supermax loadeer configured as explained above,
browse and attache the right firmware and hit next, Now turn on your receiver.

you need to turn your receiver on just after you hit next.
When your receiver is turned on while the loader on your receiver initialse
the RS232 port it gets an interupt request and that inrerupt the loader from trying to fetch data
from the corrupted flash memory and insteads begans to
synchronize and recieve the firmware from your computer.

Onething you should know is that bad cables could work fine with putty and Hyperterminal,
for viewing few lines of texts but they may fail to work with update/upgrade.
What type of cable are you using, is it rs232 to rs232 or usb to rs232?
if it is rs232 to rs232 is it original signal cable or homemade one?
Just comeback and let us know if you could get it to work.

another possibility is to try hyperterminal as a loader
Go to Transfer>Sendfile
Browse and attach the firmware file
And set the protocol to Zmodem or Ymodem you could experment with them one by one
Hit Send and Turn your receiver on immediately.
If it is upgrading, you will see a progress bar.

If you'r still having the issue may be then the loader is not compatible to your
receiver and we will try to bring it up by pluging it into an exact same receiver

thank you very much for your suggestion. my cable is both side rs232 and homemade from joystick.i have tried using hyperterminal as loader but it wasnot successful.pls what shall i do ?

How about using the loader with configuration settings set as described above?
It takes time to write steps one has to follow, and we want update to the results of all the sugestions we already made before we gamble on the probablities of what went wrong.

Connect your receiver with RS232, using the supermaxloader attach the right firmware and hit next, turn your receiver on and wait until instalation is completed.

by choosing dump/upload data (the option varies depending on the type of loader you used)from upgrade options dropedown lists of the loader.

I am grateful to you Kstar.my cable works fine with eurobox but not with hyperterminal (with eurobox loader) .Do you think it may not work with supermax? pls help me? waiting for your reply

I couldn't quite follow what you mean when you say

My experiance is that cables work fine for text viewing, but not for intesive tasks like updating. So I have seen calbes work fine with puty just to view some echos from the receiver but faile to complete the update or dump process after going upto 3 or 4 percent of the task.

If someone around could lend you an original signal cable it is a good bet to try. Another way of checking your cable integrity is to use it to dump a working receiver, if you manage to complete the dump process(the dumped file need to be the same size as your receiver memory) then the cable is good for update as well. Otherwise it is the culprit.

i mean by using hyperterminal as a loader it does not work but using eurobox loader it works fine.the died supermax was able to dump when i tried it using eurobox loader.can the loader cause any problem if i upgrade the receiver?

If you try to upgrade the bootloader as well, yes, you might put yourself in rather difficult situation. Otherwise, I don't see much problem if you are only updating the firmware as it is alredy been corrupted.

thanks God and you. after taking more than 10 minute to upgrade ,my receiver worked successfully.but i wonder why it is not working with eromupgrade and hyperterminal?

Hi, I tried to flash my Supermax SM2350 Power Tech which stuck with 'A H' an its screen because of wrong software using rs232 and eerom upgrade tool but when i click next keep getting the msg 'Initialize STB sdram is failed'. Please help..I've been stucked here the whole week! Tebaberugn pls!
