Eutelsat 5°W and Eutelsat 5°e are not similar they are Quite different    
1. on Eutelsat 5°W u can install ORTB channel on this
   TP: 12690 V 30000 (c-band  LNB )  whereas-
2. on  Eutelsat 5°e u can install tv congo on this TP: 12054 V 29950  
           ( ku-band LNB )

is it possible to use the frequency even eutelsat 5e available among satellite lists?

The above frequency at 12690 V 30000
is infact in Ku band range not in C band.
But the coverage of all Ku bands from this sat is not
available in our area.

But ORTB on C band is available on 4154 L 2985 on this sat. and it covers our area with EIRP values of 39.
i.e you can use 180 sized dish to access this sat.
as you can see it has circular polaraization,
so you need the di electric to be in place.


By the way, you don't need the name of the sat to
be available in your sat list, just select one unused
sat and add The TP you see above.

you mentioned above that you got your dish aligned to
eutelsat 5°W. As I tried to point out above there is no Ku band channel reaching our area from this sat, so you are getting signals from some other sat,Not eutelsat 5°W as you thought above.

I have learnt one new idea from your explanation:

I.e having a good quality with an x satellite name(eg EUTELSAT 5W in my case)
doesn't really indicate the channels and the identified satellite might not truly belong
to that specific satellite.

I hope that is why I got EBS and ETV working under that satellite(Eutelsat 5w)


so ,how can i Differentiate (what is the primary key) 'false satellite displays "?
is that finding a specific channel ? what if a channel is available under many satellites

Normally satallite in close proximity to one another avoid
using similar TPs. So if you were using TPs that are in 5W,
your chance of getting signal from 7W for example is near zero.
Otherwise there would be interference between those frequiencies
and that would make it hard to tune to any channels from both
frequiencies. So the authorities that provide bandwidth for
satallite companies carefully choose frequiencies to avoid
interference between satallites of close proximity to one another.

i.e you need to turn your dish considerably farther from the
satallite you were actually wanting-to-align-to to get signals
on that TP from others sat. In that case you would come to know
from geographic perspective that you are pointing in the wrong
direction.

One other way(Which may not necessarly work) is to press the info
button on the remote. There you get information about the vedio id
and audio id of the specific channel. In some case you also see information
about the satallite the channel is on. But not all channel display
the satallite information, some does, some doesn't.

The general Thumb of rule is know some TP from the satallite you want
to align to and also get the general idea of its azimuth angle and
you wouldn't get signal from other closely placed satallites on that
particular Transponder.
